The new Palaiseau sub-prefecture sits at the entrance to the École Polytechnique district of the urban campus, in a vegetal environment at the edge of the landscaped boundary between the city and the agricultural areas.

This compact, functional building is wrapped in a peripheral veil of ochre-tinted concrete, decorated with patterns carrying engraved inscriptions. Its pediment façade, marking the entrance to the campus, slopes down to disappear into the ground, offering a gently sloping garden welcoming the public.
