UFR – School of Economics, Law & Management

EducationRefurbishmentConstruction economics

The Madeleine Campus sits at the heart of Orléans through the refurbishment of the former Porte de la Madeleine Hospice (1675), turned into an administrative hub, and the construction of a new university building dedicated to law, management and economics. The latter will bring together lecture theatres, teaching rooms and a learning centre open onto the city.

The project combines heritage upgrading and contemporary architecture: the historic building is restored to reveal its architectural qualities, while the new building asserts a clear and luminous architectural language, organised around an emblematic arched entrance. Construction choices favour a mixed timber-concrete structure, combined with stone, ensuring durability and performance.

The operation targets the BBC Effinergie Heritage and Effinergie Renovation, Tertiary Decree labels, asserting a strong environmental ambition, in the service of a sober, comfortable and exemplary campus.
