Theatre – Privas

The existing theatre in the lower town was no longer suited to its function or to current regulations. Its full refurbishment unfolds around three lines of action. First, the architectural proposal consists in fully restructuring the foyer in order to optimise the reception spaces and to smooth public circulation. The second important point of this intervention is to fully restructure the auditorium in order to improve its functionality and comfort. The new auditorium is raised, enlarged, with capacity rising from 811 to 1,100 seats, accompanied by a complete restructuring of the scenographic equipment and seating. Finally, the last aspect of the restructuring is to redefine the building’s massing as a result of the previous changes.
