The swimming pool project responds to the wish of 11 municipalities to offer a shared facility replacing the existing pool, which was very dilapidated and undersized.

The pool sits in the immediate vicinity of the centre of Châteaulin, on a site that has remained rural while being well served for ease of access for all visitors: pedestrian routes, bus, cars.

The functional simplicity and compactness of the circle give the building a clear plan and ease of use. The pool hall is the central space, opening to the south and composed of several layers: spectator stands, swimming pool, leisure pool and paddling pool.

The two main pools are made of stainless steel. The stainless steel pool offers many advantages: perfect water-tightness, long-lasting material, optimised operating costs, improved hygiene, fitting-out flexibility, sustainable development approach, residual value of stainless steel at end of life.
