Le Cratère theatre, national stage

CulturalRefurbishmentConstruction economics

The operation focuses on the architectural requalification of the spaces: resizing of the entrance façade for better visibility, transformation of the foyer into a fluid and continuous Agora, capable of hosting various cultural and social activities.

The hall keeps its singular configuration but is optimised through the reworking of the proscenium and the addition of seating tiers, supporting greater proximity with the audience. Circulation is clarified, outdoor terraces are upgraded and existing structures, metal trusses, concrete columns, architectural façades, are integrated and brought into dialogue with the new fittings.

This intervention combines technical improvement, comfort of use and energy performance, to offer a theatre adapted to current demands of the performing arts.
