D-Day Landing Museum

A natural harbour nestled between two cliffs, the port of Arromanches enters History in June 1944. It was chosen to host one of the central elements of the Normandy Landings: the artificial harbour ‘Mulberry B’, from which much of the Anglo-Canadian D-Day logistics was organised.

The museum presents itself as a glazed cube, placed at the centre of the village, facing the sea and the remains of the last pontoons of the artificial harbour.

The centrepiece of this building, offering a 1,000 sqm exhibition space over two levels, will undoubtedly be the animated scale model that allows visitors to discover the artificial harbour as it was in the summer of 1944.
