Media library and forecourt

This media library will be the first stone of the ‘Heart of Town’ urban project and will offer Cellois residents a new place for culture, exchange and knowledge, at the centre of the town, in direct connection with the town hall.

This building fits into the landscape in three stages: a new forecourt, a belvedere over the valley and a landscaped descent. To avoid an effect of excessive bulk from the park, the media library appears as if carved out of the slope, with the levels following on as terraces. The architectural language is minimalist: the volumes are entirely glazed at the forecourt level, the solid elements are reduced to a strict minimum.
