Lower secondary school and gymnasium – Saint-Donat-sur-l’Herbasse

The new lower secondary school, located on the urban edge of the town, has a capacity of 600 pupils and is equipped with a gymnasium, a sports plateau and staff housing. The sports facilities are also open to out-of-school community groups.

The buildings, with their sober and serene architecture, slender in form, offer welcoming and caring indoor and outdoor spaces for the pupils. This architecture is also part of an environmental approach through the use of bio-based materials, and through attention to summer comfort, improved by overhangs and the timber colonnades that protect the façades from the most intense solar radiation.
